MK 19
This course is designed to expand your operational capabilities and manipulation skills with the Mk 19 Mod 3.
- Learn safe and proper handling of the Mk 19 Mod 3 automatic grenade lancher, its characteristics, and its operational and employment capabilities.
- Assembly, disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, function check and maintenance will also be performed. Learn to properly identify and replace worn or broken parts.
- We will discuss the proper use and assembly of the M3 tripod and available mounting systems.
- The various types of ammunition will be covered. We will discuss their operational applications and limitations as well as the dynamics and advantages of specialty munitions to include: trajectory, internal, external, and terminal ballistics. Internal functioning of the safeties and arming devices of 40mm munitions will be covered.
- Fine tune your loading and unloading skills, immediate and remedial action procedures and your ability to identify and distinguish various malfunctions and stoppages. You will learn the cause of these malfunctions and to correct and prevent them.
- Learn to handle the weapon system under stress with extreme confidence while performing various live-fire techniques in order to deliver accurate, intense, and decisive firepower on hard targets.
- Students will learn range estimation and understand sighting-in procedures utilizing the traverse and elevation mechanism (T&E).
- Accessories will be discussed: various types of training aids, optics, and other equipment related to the Mk 19 Mod 3 automatic grenade launcher.
- An optional third day of training will encompass waterborne or vehicle operations. Learn proper transportation and stowage techniques as well as various live fire exercises.
