M60 D/Enhanced
M60D – Designed to be used as a door gun for helicopters. Can also be employed from vehicles and boats. The M60D differs from the M60 in that the butt stock and trigger assembly are replaced with spade/butterfly grips and a spade trigger assembly. The rear sight is replaced with a ring sight to assist in acquiring and tracking targets.
M60D Enhanced (shown) – (Conversion Kit available for all M60D variants) Unlike the earlier version, the M60D Enhanced does not require a mitten to change barrels. The carrying handle is located on the barrel, similar to the M60E3 and M60E4 / MK43 version, for efficient, quick barrel changes. The M60D Enhanced also incorporates a bipod mounted on the front of the receiver instead of mounted on the barrel, an extra sear notch on the operating rod which reduces the possibility of a runaway machine gun, and a feedcover that allows the operator to load the weapon with the bolt cocked to the rear or forward in the closed position.
